In order to receive the new, you need to purge the old to avoid any "Spillover Confusion" that would ultimately muddy the waters, muddle your thoughts and hinder your progression. For the sake of clarity it is imperative to keep going and not lose sight of the count and how far you have progressed along your journey's path. Appreciate the distance from your starting point to your existing point. Appreciate the distance that you have yet to travel and have the Faith that it too will add value to your Life so that in turn, you can add value to someone else's Life.

I agree to an extent and would like to add my two cents. Your new self is but a reflection of your past, the old self. We learn and grow amidst all that has happened for good or bad. The hits and misses of our past get us closer to a cleaner aim at meeting our own expectations from ourselves. Like you said, we should be appreciative of our journey yesterday that which will help us to see and skip that muddy puddle that lurks ahead of us today. What we will be tomorrow is shaped by what we are today and what we were yesterday. Learn from your past, enjoy your present and hope for the future. There is no such thing as a mistake but they are instead called "experiences". If you treat them such then you are learning with each experience and know when not to repeat them :)
Cheers My Friend & Keep writing !
