"ALL, Not Some"

Over my Life I have been conditioned to fight for what I believe in, who I believe in and what is ultimately right in addition to the right thing in which to do.

Good, bad or otherwise, it is far too easy for us to fall back on what we know, what we "think" we know and what we are "used" to doing: good, bad and otherwise.

But Faith! That ALMIGHTY component and daily ingredient compels us to relinquish all of what we know, what we "think" we know and what we are "used" to doing in lieu of, Faith, the size of a mustard seed.

Stillness does not equate to weakness. Stillness is the window to GOD's strength. And you cannot admire it, if you are constantly moving, hence.

In recent times, I have caught myself "moving" and "responding" as opposed to "witnessing" and "admiring" the impeccable brilliance of my Loving Father!

I chastise my son in order to show him that there is only one...way in which to do the right thing.

But, I am not just a Father, for I am ALSO a son, that needs to be reminded from time to time, even in most recent times.

I Pray for,
I choose to,
Live and reside in Peace and Happiness.

Therefore, it is incumbent upon me, you and us to rise, stand, and let "GOD" fight our battles, "ALL, Not Some," good, bad and otherwise.

For we belong to "HIM," by way of "ALL, Not Some."

"Cannot Afford It"

Once upon a time, I heard someone say, "If you have to ask the price, then you cannot afford it."

As a young boy this concept baffled me because I did not see it that way. Perhaps the person asking needed to know in order to take the information and make an "informed" decision with respect to what they intended on purchasing?

How could someone just make a blanket assumption as to whether or not another person could afford it or not? But when you do not reside within that demographic, perhaps your perception of their reality is skewed.

Truth be told there are a lot of things in this world that we have a tendency to want, pursue and even purchase that we knowingly cannot afford.

Truth be told, we have a tendency to live beyond our means with champagne taste, beer money and no disposable cash to claim via our name.

But this Blog is not solely in reference to the physical items that we adorn ourselves in and with or the pricey cars that we like to see ourselves riding around in. No this Blog is all encompassing with respect to how we truly live our lives.

Can we really truly afford to break up our families thinking that the grass is greener on the other side?

Can you really afford that indiscretion that forever shattered the bond of trust, for a moment of selfishness?

Can I really afford to not be the Father to my children that I am for the sake of doing whatever it is that "Corey" wants to do, in a non-selfless capacity?

Can we really truly afford to exist within this world without any knowledge of the greatness of GOD and all that HE has to offer us should we only be obedient to HIS Word?

Can we really afford to not put our best foot forward knowing that GOD will more than meet us halfway? Especially with the caveat being, that Faith without works, is dead.

Perhaps they were indeed right all along?

"If you have to ask the price, then you "Cannot Afford It.""

I can ill-afford to position myself on the outskirts of GOD's Grace and Mercy, the Love of my children, the Blessings of today, the promise of tomorrow, the future fervent and devoted Love of my Life, my Wife, and the protection that my LORD and Savior offers me as HIS child.

If you have to ask the price, then NO, you "Cannot Afford It."

"Milestones"

Life is chalk full of "firsts" and "next's" so long as we are willing participants moving towards progression and not regressing at the sight nor sound of fear.  The next chapter in our lives is contingent upon our completion of the current chapter in our lives.  We move when it is time for us to move and we do so Prayerfully compatible with not necessarily what "we" want, but what HE wants for us to do and be.
 
It has been an honor and a privilege to have finished with one, knowing that my preparedness for the next is on tap and just an opportunity away.
 
Congratulations on the next chapter in your life.  May the previous chapter have provided you with all that you will need for the current chapter that is about to unfold.  But since GOD is ever present, the need to know is superseded by our smidgen of Faith, that whether or not we know for sure, the mere fact that HE knows is all that we need to know, until HE so deems it necessary for us, by way of revelation.
 
I'm here, I'm ready. I'm there, I'm gone!  The next chapter is yours, to graciously carry on.

"Nothing But Joy"

I have never missed out on anything that was meant for me to have. If it was never mine, then it was never meant for me to begin with.

I have never experienced anything that was not meant for me to experience. If I experienced it, then it was to mold me from the old figure into what the experience would create thereafter.

I have nothing but the strongest, propping up the weakened, casting out the weakest, only to invite it back into the vision, stronger than when it initially left.

I have been sucked of my resources to only have them replenished, stronger than what they previously were.

I have been weakened to only have my batteries recharged at a voltage, greater then what I previously was.

At my weakest, I was cast out, only to be brought back in, thus compelling my witness to lend itself to my testimony, further invigorating those that have lost their strength, feel weak or are at a completely weakened and vulnerable state.

But, Glory Be To GOD Almighty!!!

Yesterday's news is still relevant to today's story, especially if have never even read it.

The unspeakable, yet must be spoken ABOUT,

The Smile upon my face,

The Smile that you hear in my voice,

The Smile that you read within this Blog,

I have been BLESSED!

Having gone through the OTHER side to only emerge from THIS side, taking note of all that is IN and AROUND my Life, now and forevermore, "Nothing But Joy."

No, you cannot STEAL it!
No, you cannot BORROW it!
No, you cannot HAVE it!

But I can and will share with you how you can go get your own.

"Wisdom and Love"

My wisdom was first conceived of my experience and later born into what has become my testimony.

My Love was first conceived of the Love that was first bestowed upon me by the greatest Love known to man.

I am privileged to be in the presence, to be in the midst and to witness all that is happening when it is happening, how it is changing what would have happened, preventing what could have happened and demonstrating what should have and what will happen because I am in the midst of.

I am eternally grateful for the opportunity to have, to be and to do all of the things that are tasked under my Life's purpose. Such a Blessing it is to be in the midst of my Blessing and to know as the Blessing is occurring, as it is in the midst of the Blessing within the Blessing.

That "Wisdom and Love" that dances around my circumference and sings praises in unidentifiable octaves, reaching the unreachable, touching the untouchable, Blessing the non believers, seeing the unseen, hearing the unheard and forgiving even the unforgivable.

"Wisdom and Love" is too much of the best thing, that could never even admonish the worst thing, for the Blessing exists within the experience of everything.

I am eternally grateful for any and everything that has crossed my path. Good, bad and otherwise, it has all contributed to the "Wisdom and Love" that I have and feel.
I am better because of it!

More understanding having gone through it!

Strong enough having withstood it!

Experienced enough to now recognize it!

Smart enough to stay away from it!

Too Blessed to ever succumb to it!

Better off than I once was because of it!

"Wisdom and Love," the latter the former, individually and collectively, I am both, individually, collectively and respectfully.

Wisdom humbled me,
Love resuscitated me,
And Jesus saved me!

May the Praise that comes out of my mouth forever recognize that even when it was happening TO me, it still was not ABOUT me, so glory BE, to GOD!

"New Normal"

The chemistry was unlike any periodic table that I could recall, but all of the elements were still present.

It is hard to fathom what normal is like when you have lived and experienced any and everything but. Yet when you readily identify the areas of improvement that you can indeed improve upon, you can then begin to paint a normal picture to commit to your photographic memory and to frame on your wall of Life as an accurate representation of what the "New Normal" should and will look like in your Life going forward.

Getting acclimated to your new surroundings is a part of the process that ultimately cancels out what the "old" used to represent, and begins to solidify all that the "new" now represents.

All of the elements on my Life's periodic table were for me to figure out so that I can make sure that the compatibility was and is not somewhere lost in the presentation.

And then she comes along and does not question the elements within my periodic table, but she challenges the "old" in order to make the "new" even better. And I get it.

What was once normal is no longer even cordial to any of the "new" elements that beautifully represent the "New Normal" as my brilliant inheritance.

I had to go there, in order for me to get here. And now I must go where, the sound of her voice and the beat of her heart, I can hear.

This is my "New Normal."

"Reservations"

It is always a big deal whenever you "have" plans or you are "making" plans to do something by yourself or with someone that you would like to spend "your" time with.

You get the tickets.

You reserve the seats.

You block off the time.

You prepare to get prepared.

You figure out what to wear.

You decide how to wear your hair.

And as that day inches closer, your level of excitement grows higher.

You have "plans."

In Life, when it comes to being successful, the process is just as tantalizing. We constantly play it over in our minds, just like our new favorite song or that one song that we just can't seem to get out of our heads.

Determined people usually MAKE "Reservations."

Ambiguous people usually HAVE "Reservations."

Which one best describes you? Do you MAKE or do you HAVE?

When it comes to your success story, you either MAKE or you HAVE..."Reservations."

Adopt the determination by removing the ambiguity. No longer HAVE, but MAKE "Reservations" to attend and play a leading role in YOUR success story.

"Everywhere You Are"

You cannot just lay verbal claim to Love if you are anything but.

You should not attempt to become a stakeholder of Love if your intentions are anything but.

You do not have to look for Love when Love already exists within you and resides within the house that Love has built, that is now occupied by you.

There is no place that you can go where Love is not adequately represented.

There is no place that you will ever come to know where Love is not marked present.

Love is who and what you become when you first accept and embrace the notion that if it is Love, that nothing else matters, that you are entitled to Love and that you deserve to be Loved.

It matters not what you do, where you go, who you become, what you learn along your journey and all of the other many intangibles.

Love is...Love shall be...Love shall remain..."Everywhere You Are."

"Welcome Home"

I Missed You!

You have been gone for quite some time. A lot has changed since I last welcomed you into my Life. And now I am ready and willing to appreciate you and all that you do for me.

The Love that you give me,
The Smile upon my face,
The way that you make my heart race,
The immense joy that I feel whenever you are around,
The limitless potential that I realize in your presence.

You are truly good to me and without fail you have always been about your word and what it means. And for that, I am grateful!

Admittedly, it has been difficult without you and how I have managed to survive this long is a mystery that I thankfully no longer have to solve.

I Promise to be better to you this time around and take you for granted, never. For I now know what the alternative, without you in Life, is like. And I want no part of that, irrespective of the influence.

I have missed you entirely too much and now I understand and wholeheartedly appreciate every cent of your worth. And I shall demonstrate that to you from this day forth, until my Life is no more.

"Restoration"

There are so many projects that people I know are embarking upon. With the plethora of television shows that showcase what can be done with relatively small investments, sparked is a certain level of energy into the hearts and minds of those that are so inclined to "fix things up."

Redoing your bathroom, having hardwood floors installed, painting, fixing up an old car, cleaning out the garage, purging the old, making room for the new, adding shelves to occupy more and so on.

Some even cover up or remove tattoos that are no longer relevant or serve any importance in their lives.

Those "projects" are all fine and dandy, but they represent the physical aspects of materialism, thus misrepresenting the well-being of your heart, mind, body and soul.

We take and make those small investments in hopes that they will alter our state once they have altered our surroundings, placing a false sense of hope in the same basket that we have stored all of the rest of our eggs.

If we only take a fraction of that energy, minus the investment because it is free, and reinvest it into ourselves, we might not need to alter our surroundings in hopes that it will alter our state of mind, thus positively impacting our hearts, providing healthier bodies and happier souls.

I am of the firm belief that you do indeed reap what you sow. So, if you were to invest nothing within your being, you should effectively expect just that in return. Nothing.

And when you invest in those misrepresentations, expect a return that exists only in the form of the presentation.

Projects are great and always looking to improve upon things are even better. But do not forsake one for the other. YOU are just as important of an investment as the projects that you are planning to work on. Just do not forget about and plan to work on YOU as well. You are just as and even more important. Believe that!

Restore and claim your joy at no less than 100%.

The happiness surrounding your situation(s) are strictly contingent upon the installation and subsequent "Restoration" of your joy!

Claim it because it belongs to YOU!

The "Restoration" of your Faith shall alter all of your surroundings with the explicit intent of serving up the only true representation for the presentation of your Life.

"Healing"

I miss her terribly so!

I had not the leftover strength to carry me TO or THROUGH for that matter. But "Glory Be To GOD" that I had within me, all that she deposited within me, in order to understand that HE shall provide all of my needs if I have BUT, only the size of a mustard seed.

My upbringing may not have been traditional but the Love that I received was definitely unconditional. I firmly believe that what was in store for me years later on down the road would be executed to precision due to my previous experience and the overdraft protection that my Mother's Love would one day provide my Life's account.

You can only "bounce" what is not there to begin with. You cannot "withdraw" what was never first "deposited." You are only "insufficient" if you have been negligent.

But that was not the case with my Mother. My Life is so full of my Mother's wonderful memories and her tireless legacy, that it is like she never left.

I talk about her as if she's still in the room.

I hear her voice as if she's right here, right now.

I appreciate her wisdom as if she just whispered it to me.

I draw off of her tree of Life's branches of knowledge.

Today, my Life is filled with happiness because we deserve it so.

Not a single hour in my Life passes by without my Mother popping up to remind me...

Not a single day went by in my Life without my Mother showing up to help me find me...

The Love of my Life may not be physically here WITH me, but her presence in and around my Life is proof that she has never left me. And to think that she promised that she never would. "I will always be with you my son," Mother would say, over and over again.

I Pray for those who's Loved ones have gone on. May you find the Peace and happiness that I have found in order to compliment the comfort of what that Peace and happiness sounds like.

One day soon it will commence and time will allow you to let the "Healing" begin.

"Host of Imperfections"

It is through my many mistakes that I have arrived at the experience that is providing me my expanded growth, allowing me to occupy a space within the place that I now reside, called Peace.

When you have already dealt with the confessions within your Life, it makes it all possible for you to move on with the rest of your Life, as if you were never held back to begin with.

It is not a right, but an honor and a privilege to receive a second chance to get it right the first time in the presence of GOD's eyes. The ability to redeem yourself as if you never stepped outside of yourself during all of the times when you were wrong.

No less than humbling as I initially stumbled outside of the gate, but eventually got back in stride as I pace myself towards my destiny, and my fate.

I did nothing on my own and would not even attempt to plagiarize my very own story. I am home, at Peace, happiness abound with remorse and regret nowhere to be found.

I have been nothing short of a "Host of Imperfections" that now offer me my Life's direction, as if I was never lost to begin with.

"No Matter What!"

I have made the very conscious Life decision to be "Happy." To not allow anyone to beg, borrow or steal my joy. Sharing is a great thing, but joy is customized FOR you and TO you.

Therefore, you cannot expect people to adequately share in something that was customized per your specs. How could your customization satisfy their needs when it is according to the needs of you?

So, do not allow yourself to become unhappy when someone does not appear to genuinely share in your joy and enthusiasm. Like I said, sharing is a great thing, but.

Even with everything that I have ever been through with everyone that I have been through it with, nothing can supersede or replace....

The Joy,
The Love,
The Peace,
The Harmony,

All of which I simultaneously celebrate at the expense of the alternative, as opposed to me being miserable at the expense of....

The Joy,

"After HIS Heart"

Although it does sting and often hurts, I am not surprised at the condescending and demeaning manner in which people have a tendency to treat you. But if they did it to King Jesus, then they surely and most definitely will do it little ole' Corey.

But Glory Be To GOD that whatever is said or done to or about me does not have dominion nor jurisdiction over me and what LORD GOD sees and ultimately has planned, for me.

I fashion myself after nothing that can be replaced, but a remarkable image that I long to trace. HIS.

Although my ways are no longer at the opposite end of the spectrum, I kindly remind myself of where I once was in Loving appreciation of how far I have trekked to THIS end of the spectrum.

There is a colossal difference between "before" and "after," "then" and "now," "here" and "there," "me" and "HIM." Which brings me to the true "Heart" of the matter.

In order for me to ask the question: "How About I Start, With My Heart?"

Or in order for me to be "A Man of Your Heart," I must first get all of my ducks in a Loving row and be a citizen of GOD's Loving kingdom so that I can trace that image and be a man, "After HIS Heart."

It is not "me," but what HE has so chosen to do WITH me, hence the very reason why HE shall ALWAYS receive the glory.

After I have successfully traced HIS likeness and image, allow me to color it in by demonstrating that my every effort relative to Love, shall always be one, that is "After HIS Heart."

"How About I Start, With My Heart?"

Sometimes what we plan on doing and what we wind up doing has everything to do with what we want or what we think the other person should be planning on or actually doing themselves.

But as experience has so humbly taught Corey and humbled Corey in the "process, " I now strongly beg to differ.

What "I" need to do has nothing to do with what "you" need to do.

What "I" need to say has nothing to do with what "you" need to say.

For if the existence of that person was never realized to begin with, chances are you would still have to Love, say or do what you were waiting for them to Love, say or do themselves. Now, wouldn't you?

So, move according to what needs to be done.

Say according to what needs to be said.

Show according to what needs to be shown.

And grow whenever you witness an opportunity for said growth.

And in the "process," do not remove or subtract Love from Life's equation.

Love when Love is in search of Love in the form of and to compliment, that of Love.

There exists the very real chance to still do what you were waiting to be done or said by somebody else. Only this time around, do it YOURSELF!

YOU can Love,
YOU can care,
YOU can yearn to take all that YOU know and open up and share.

Experience has paid for my wisdom, thus making me a tad bit smart.

The winds of change have finally decided to blow your way and give way to the shift in what you used to know, to what you will now grow to Love.

Even if you were remotely unaware that this gust of wind would one day embrace your beautiful face, then please now understand the gentleness in which it does.

It was just a matter of time before it was your time to release the anchor that has held you down and break the cycle that has perpetuated your frown, for far too long.

The ease in which you inspire me, ignites a fire within me that forces my every action to keep fanning the flames in hopes that they never burn out.

But if my efforts are any indication, preparation from the warmth that will comfort any doubt, shall continue to play its role and satisfy its part, for I am, "A Man of Your Heart."

Old days, old ways and old habits shall all soon pass away, if they have not already done so or are in the process of doing so, making way...

Left over will be the lessons learned from the opportunities spurned and all of the wasted churn, making way...

I am grateful to all of my wrongs for once and for all showing me how to get all of my rights, correct, thus making way...

I am not worried about where she is at. I am more concerned about being ready for her as soon as we meet, having already made way...

...for a "New Kind of Something" to take root within the new foundation of my new found stimulation that boldly introduced ITself, further restricting me from hindering MYself back to a place that existed before the lessons learned were first documented.

For the first time in a long time, if EVER, the season is ripe for all to be construed, understood and embraced, for a "New Kind of Something" to happily take place.

Find your PASSION, move in and live within it!

Identify your PURPOSE and do not live outside of it!

"Compassion Within My Heart"

The thought or mention of Your name brings a Smile to my face, an extra beat to my heart, more joy to my cheer, more cheer to my joy and an overflow of glow, even in the darkest hour, of the lowest times, in my Life.

You become what I need for You to be and do so in such an abundance, to ever prevent me from NOT seeing that Your presence is not just marked by the "Footprints in the Sand," but the "Compassion Within My Heart."

I am so glad that we met. I search no more, but instead give even more, making withdrawals off of all of your deposits, knowing that my Life's account can never be overdrawn since your Blessings are never ending and forevermore.

You know who You are!

But, in the event that there are those that wonder why my glow is even visible in the middle of the day, I tell them that it has everything to do with U!

"THIS Very Moment"

WHAT ARE YOU DOING?

Everything that you were doing yesterday has or should have prepared you for everything that you are now facing today. If you have yet to be able to apply it, just live a little longer, Pray a little stronger and reminisce.

So many moments in time, so many moments that were defined. But, how many were designed by U?

I cannot undo whatever I did or did not want to do or say on yesterday.

I do not know what tomorrow holds since I am not there...YET!

But in "THIS Very Moment," I can choose to be the Purpose that I was Purposed to be with an undeniable illumination, void of any instant gratification, since my understanding affords me the knowledge that although the story might include but a GLIMPSE of me, it is not at all ABOUT me, but how I give back all that has ever been given TO me.

The next great moment starts with U!

Again I ask, WHAT ARE YOU DOING?

Literally, I roll out of bed landing directly on my knees, giving Praise and thanksgiving FIRST! When you set your day off right, you can handle anything that is desperately trying to go wrong!

I do not welcome the unflattering, but I am more then equipped to deal with it, if and when it decides to rear itself. Unfortunately, it knows not the fact that it has already been defeated since my relationship solidifies my standing and the reason why victory is always at hand, no greater than an arms length away.

"The Need To Give Thanks"

When I left "yesterday," GOD simultaneously Blessed me to see "today," by way of breath in my body with the additional functionality of my limbs and in my right state of mind.

What more could I possibly ask for? How can I begin to repay a debt that I already know that I cannot afford?

What so compels a man to explore the possibilities, that extend far beyond his very own capabilities, landing him smack dab in the middle of GOD's tranquillity?

My GOD!

You saved my Life when people and things cared about everything BUT!

My GOD!

You Blessed me with a spectacularly wonderful Wonder Woman that has left a gigantic void in my Life, yet you have filled that void in My Mother's absence.

My GOD!

You strengthen my every weakness thus allowing me to speak to your greatness whether I am scaling that mountaintop, standing at its base or shouting Hallelujah as I am perched upon its peak!

My GOD!

When I was broke as a joke that everyone was laughing at, YOU, smiled upon me because YOU, knew that one day I would be giving YOU, the Praise through my writings, my Blogs and my books, with the talent and the gift that YOU, gave me!

You gave me another chance to dance around Your Grace and sing Your Praises in the presence of Your Mercy.

"Through It All"

When I was in IT, I caught myself falling victim in and to the same pitfalls that everyone else said that they would avoid "if it was them." Once upon a time I even made the same bold proclamation!

The boldness of such winds up being your ultimate crutch in your pursuit to do different, as IF your way would prove to be so much better, when in all actuality, it was and is never about "them" or the "situation," but WHO navigated you THROUGH and delivered you FROM.

The fact that our common bond is our connection to the human race, it is and should not be surprising that we fall short, come up short, quit too soon, move too fast, respond too slow and are in that eternal quest to "get it just right."

No matter WHAT you go through, know that we ALL go through IT and come out on the other side, not necessarily unscathed, but better than we once were, forever untied to the naïve bond that used to represent our decision-making process, subsequent thoughts and scattered about actions.

IT represents anything that we ALL go through.

But it is WHO, that navigated you THROUGH, thus delivering you FROM, "Through It All."

"Me Within Me"

I used to hear the naysayers more than I used to hear myself! So much so that I started ignoring the voice within me, thus dwindling the "Me Within Me."

But Glory Be To GOD, for what I started to hear were the WHISPERS of GOD, that spoke louder than ANY of the shouts from ALL of the naysayers.

I could hear the silent whispers of GOD that began to drown out the decibel level of noise emanating from the less than truthful as they attempted to riddle integrity of its pure intentions, in hopes of shattering ANY and ALL of my hopes and dreams of being everything that I was first destined to be.

But as GOD spoke softer and the noise grew even louder, my ability to hear HIM was fine tuned even more.

Just preparation for the time when one day the stage will be grander and the noise will be earth shattering and through it ALL, I will STILL be able to hear the silent whispers of the LORD, confirming the "Me Within Me."

"That's A Lot of Work"

I see GOD in my children everyday that I am so wonderfully Blessed to lay my eyes upon both of their beautiful Spirits.

As I was making up my son's bunkbed, he witnessed the bed pulled from the wall and his Father dressing both the top and bottom bunks as he stood there and quipped: "That's A Lot of Work."

The presence of GOD is humbling in ANY format, presentation or articulation. And this instance proved to be no different.

As my son stood there in awe of what he deemed to be a lot of work that "his" Father was doing, I could not help but to immediately think about all of the work that I have witnessed "my" Father doing. The humbling aspect had everything to do with the fact that the vast majority of things that HE does for me go on behind the scenes, with or without my knowledge, most applicable to the latter.

Children are a constant reminder, that GOD is ALWAYS in the midst!

Looking back over the course of my relatively short Life, I can attest and testify in the same manner as my son did to "his" Father, the same to "my" Father, that had it not been for the Grace of GOD, I do not know where I would be or even IF, I would be.

I said, "The presence of GOD is humbling in ANY format, presentation or articulation." And this instance proves to be no different as well.

Since perfection shall permanently evade me all of the days of my life, all the days of my Life shall always be a work in progress. And "That's A Lot Of Work."

Thank you for the lesson son.

Before you go looking for something someplace else, make sure that it "Already Exists Within You."

Demonstrate the attributes that you yourself are looking for so that you can lay the expectation foundation by first illuminating the fact that what you are looking for is not due to your lack of, but as a nice compliment, in addition to, what is already there.

It should "Already Exist Within You" prior to you taking an itemized inventory and pointing out the deficiencies in others, hence the reason for my key attributes being Love and Forgiveness. We can never have too much of either and can ill-afford to do without them in ANY capacity.

Love and Forgiveness allows us to move forward and not regress to the point of zero advancement due to a hardened heart and an unforgiving temperament.

Love will allow me to forgive. And Forgiveness will lead me to keep pressing on, in spite of.

"Opportunities of Tomorrow"

Not only is it a Blessing to see the dawn of a new day, but it is a miraculous undertaking to be afforded the chance to change what didn't go right the day before and make it right at the very next chance that you get, tomorrow.

We can forge ahead but we cannot "forge" our names next to opportunities that we did stake a claim to when they were in our midst. We cannot rescript our past nor can we plagiarize our futures.

But we CAN rewrite our future's past by doing everything today that tomorrow might not one day afford us, by way of time.

The time is now. The opportunity is here. And what you make of your stake is entirely up to you and your efforts, coupled with a healthy dose of Faith!

"Hi, Princess!"

As soon as my eyes have established their presence on the inside of the door, they go to work, searching for the two reasons why I am even there to begin with.

Not satisfied with what my eyes have happened upon, I follow the direction of my feet, directed by my heart, with the sole intention of locating my hearts desire.

The absence of what will make "my" heart content compels "me" to continue "my" search until "I" have found what it is that "I" am ultimately looking for (Marinate).

As I turn the corner, my Smile says it all!

"Hi, Princess!"

"Hi, Daddy!" She responds.

At the very moment that I greeted "My Princess" I was politely confronted by a collection of stares accompanied by Smiles, practically simultaneously. Some were other little girls, one was a single Mother of a little girl herself and the other adult was a married Mother of two teenage children.

The backgrounds of the faces that composed the array of stares that my "Hi, Princess" to my very own daughter garnered, taught me something that I already knew, but, to GOD be the Glory, presented itself in a whole new form, in an entirely different place, with a vast collection of new faces to represent.

You see, it matters NOT your demographic, when all "Ladies" young and older should be placed on the highest level. The attention that my "Hi, Princess" achieved leads me to the belief that EVERY woman has it in her heart to be that special someone TO someone, irrespective of the relationship, their age, height, weight, hair, skin, place, space, face, accomplishments, failures, struggles, beliefs, efforts, trials, successes and the list can go on until infinity.

The response FROM my daughter of the greeting TO my daughter had zero difference amongst the newly represented faces, as if they were ALL my daughters.

In other words, their hearts desire was no different than my own hearts desire when I set out on my initial search to begin with.

The absence of what will make "your" heart content compels "you" to continue "your" search until "you" have found what it is that "you" are ultimately looking for (Marinating still).

Their need to feel special in the eyes of that someone should make everyone happily oblige and aid in that search, thus shortening the duration of their journey, by greeting the special ladies in your Life with a, "Hi, Princess!"

To your Mother, "Hi Princess!"
To your grandmother, "Hi, Princess!"
To your sister, "Hi, Princess!"
To your wife, "Hi, Princess!"
To your daughter, "Hi, Princess!"
To your girlfriend, "Hi, Princess!"
To your niece, "Hi, Princess!"
To your cousin, "Hi, Princess!"
To yourself, "Hi, Princess!" You see you cannot expect others to think of you as such, if you do not think of yourself as such, as a Princess.

To all of the special young and older ladies whose hearts desire is to be a Princess in the eyes of someone, somewhere, here, there, near or far, from me to you, I say...."Hi, Princess!"

...And to My Mother, I still say, "Hi, Princess!"

"In A Better Place"

I have not moved, but I have rearranged all of my surroundings.

I have not quit, but I have fired all of my dead weight.

I am not obese, but I am heavy with Love.

I keep winning because GOD said that I cannot lose, if I so choose, by way of HIS obedience.

I have restructured my infrastructure to better withstand the disasters that will undoubtedly come my way, by way of people or nature.

Completely competent and no longer negligent at the expense of my happiness, resulting in self-inflicted predicaments.

The enemy can longer disrupt me because ever since I rearranged all of my surroundings, they are no longer familiar with my territory.

When I fired dead weight, I rehired success to commandeer my fate.

And Love's obesity, well I plan on shedding and distributing Love's weight to all those that read "All the Best, All the Time!"

I'm happy to say that those winning ways are due to the fact that I failed at failure because I so chose to succeed at success.

I have the same face,
Until my work has concluded, I'm still in the race,
No longer pre-occupied with someone else's pace,
Constantly covered and protected by GOD's Grace,
And HIS Mercy has delivered me all the way....dropping me off, "In A Better Place."

Hence the very reason WHY, Glory Be To GOD!

"Proactively Speaking"

It feels so amazingly wonderful to rise to another day knowing that there are Blessings that are patiently awaiting my arrival.

Once upon a time I had not because I asked not. And even when I was too naïve or too afraid to ASK for what I wanted, those Blessings were still patiently awaiting my arrival, for GOD knew and was not naïve or afraid to provide me what HE knew I would one day be in need of.

Love, on every corner, in every crack, seeping through every crevice, constantly and blatantly rearing itself in the form of, to Bless me because of, the fact that HE knew and me being naïve or afraid would never hinder HIS effort, even when I was blind to the fact.

WAS, blind to the fact and reacting as such, as if I had no clue because the truth of the matter WAS the fact, that it was indeed a true statement.

By far, the latter shall always be better than the former by way of lessons learned and subsequently greater than the former once you apply those lessons learned and put them into action, not reaction, "Proactively Speaking."

"Smile Again"

The greatest day of my Life before my Life was to be, I can lay claim to complete clarity and absolute certainty.

Understood is the past, coupled with a healthy dose of forgiveness.

Crystal clear is the future, with Faith the size of a mustard seed.

Unrelenting was my pursuit to recoup the last thing that is now the first thing on my agenda in which to do.

To live exactly how I feel and to reflect that Life and those feelings in the only way that I now know how, with complete integrity!

I arrived at the present by way of departure from the past.

I am here because I was once there, an appreciation of here, as if I have never been here before.

I Love you, I Love me, but I Love HIM even more.

The reason why I am different and why everything around me has changed,

To reflect that Life and those feelings, emphatically stressing the gains,

That were ultimately realized once I made the difference in my Life, long after the greatest day of my Life, before my Life was to be.

"Roses In My Hand"

Sometimes you need that 2nd chance in order to get that 1st impression right. How naïve we would all be if we did it right the first time, every time.

I do not think that a collective brilliance could be accomplished if we all had the same and did the same like we were supposed to and perhaps should have done.

In the absence of ignorance, our achievements are beyond our predicaments and settle nicely right into their inheritance. For what is for us, is strictly for us and us alone.

Which brings me to Love.

That 1st impression may have had us entirely too baffled to get it right the first time. But sometimes, just sometimes, you need, I need, we ALL need that 2nd chance in order to get that 1st impression right.

"Chapters To My Story"

As my son celebrated his birthday, I could not help but to think back not too long ago about the impact that his arrival had on my Life. The subsequent impacts that he and his big sister would have on my Life as they continue to grow into the people that GOD has purposed for them to be.

When my Mother took her wings to Glory, it was my children that kept me alive, occupied, busy, Smiling as they wiped away Daddy's tears and brave as I mustered up enough strength to make it through yet another day.

GOD provides you WHAT you need BEFORE you realize that you will ever be in need of IT. And so HE graciously did and I am humbled at the mere thought of my needs being met, way before I knew that an introduction was ever in order.

Who, but GOD?

My children are constantly teaching me lessons on compassion as I "crop and save" the new version of Corey, only looking back so as to make the new better, the best its ever been, with a heightened focus on improving who I am, in order to be the best that I can, all that GOD has purposed for me to be.

If you are not learning from your children, then you are not paying close enough attention to the details.

Although they learn FROM us, they teach us about ourselves so that we can in turn teach THEM better, only after they have made US better.

Who, but GOD?

My son's birthday was another reminder of the Blessings that have been bestowed upon me. I celebrate my children's birthdays by giving GOD the recognized Glory, that HE so chose to add them, as "Chapters To My Story."

"I Choose To Worship"

When you know the truth, ignorance is no longer applicable nor acceptable and playing that role in a forward progressing manner becomes intolerable with diminished sustainability, within the realm of the most infinite of infinite possibilities.

You cannot conjure up, fabricate or divvy up the amount of praise that needs to go up, so I am compelled to give it up, before, during and after, HE, has already shown up!

I've seen the bottom of the barrel, been to the opposite end of the spectrum, know what the alternative is like, a condensed version of everything that I was supposed to be.

Yet HE saw past my present and delivered me from my ignorant state, how GREAT, is our GOD? Rhetorical, in fashion, but no less the most compassionate in passion because I should be in the very place that I deserved to be, exactly where my actions lead me to be.

But when HE saw past my present and took me to my future, thus creating a path that even ignorance could not ignore, I began to see the most microscopic of the most infinite of infinite possibilities.

To GOD be ALL the glory since the conclusion of my story should have been way back when. To the dismay of the devil and to the chagrin of his ways, I can Smile again because "I Choose To Worship," HIM.

To GOD I give it all for it was not mine to begin with. I borrowed it, learned from it and returned it, to its rightful owner.

It's alright "Hater's!"

I'm not looking AT you,
I'm looking PAST you,
Because I see right THROUGH you!

Thank you for the inspiration,
As I get a glimpse of my Salvation,
Over yonder on THAT horizon.

The mere fact that HE rose on the third day,
Allows ME to keep on rising.

Keep climbing,
To the peaks that I was meant and DESIGNED to scale.

I have no choice BUT to succeed,
For I am void of the option to fail.

It is easy to see,
All that you were purposely customized to be,
When you look at yourself the same way that I now see HIM...looking at me.

Or could it be that I now feel HIM completely,
And not as I used to,
Incomplete and partially?

Not due to a lack of effort on HIS behalf,
Just a STRONGER,
More FOCUSED effort so that I can now do the correct math,
Adding up all of what HE has done for me.

But, since I cannot count that high,
I scoff at the notion to even give it a try.

When you see yourself as LESS than,
The "Hater's" see themselves as GREATER than.

But since Math was not their favorite subject,
We should not allow them to be the predicate...

HE sees me the same way that HE has always seen me.
And now I see me the same way that HE has always seen me.

Not perfect, but perfectly!

"Ready For Love"

I no longer LOOK for all that is already WITHIN me.

I do not SEEK out what I ALREADY have.

I do not BUY what I already OWN.

I do not FLAUNT what I do not POSSESS.

Yet I GIVE with ALL of my heart.

I am not looking for Love, for I am Love already. I am not seeking out Love, for it already resides within me. No need to purchase Love since it is free. Boastful Love is false advertisement.

The Love contained does not need to refrain from who and what it is, in order to maintain its impeccable brilliance.

The substance composed of past residue to be recycled and made anew confirms the past, affirms the present and solidifies the future.

Love is the only answer to every question.

So, I ask, are you "Ready For Love?"

"Something To Hold On To"

Many people grab hold of many different things when they feel like they are falling, having already fell, needing to break their fall or just a lift up from their fall.

We are LOOKING for something tangible to grab ahold of, but it is always what we do not see that supports us during the most dramatic falls within our lives.

Instead of looking AROUND to see who saw us fall, we should be looking UP to the one that will support us as we get back up and dust ourselves off, again.

That's right, I said again. Until we find ourselves hitting our stride, we shall continue the need to dust ourselves off from time to time. Prayerfully, it will not be due to the fact that we are tripping over the same things, in the same place that we previously tripped over them at.

As long as we are tripping over new things that we have learned and not the same old things that we oft times churn, do not worry about WHO saw you fall, so long as you continue to get back up AGAIN, so that Life, Love and GOD can give you "Something To Hold On To."

"Greater Purpose"

Something bigger than you, but not smaller than you, because it requires your participation.

A "We're Open" sign on the door of your establishment to indicate your intentions and to signal that you are AVAILABLE to participate.

To serve WITHIN this world and not on the outskirts OF this world for a purpose that may not even be defined before you turn on that "We're Open" sign.

But the fact that your heart is trusting and compassionate enough to make the difference and not excuses for the differences that have been made, signals your willingness to serve something not smaller than you, but bigger than you, by way of a "Greater Purpose," than you.

"Back Where I Belong."

After making my way back to the front of the line, I could not ever see myself STEPPING OUT of line again, giving up my spot for something that gave me nothing but heartache in return.

It is a LONG arduous road back, but I have earned back what I initially gave up, having surrendered what was originally mine, further acknowledging that "perceived" greener pastures do not equate to prettier vines.
Whenever you give up your GOD given path, expect nothing but the wrath in the form of Lessons Learned. But the silver lining comes in the form of having re-EARNED what I previously squandered.

Thank goodness, that sometimes silver linings have multiple layers. Back to the front of the line I went, having re-earned all that I ever spent, only to realize that what I thought I "squandered" was stored away as my future inheritance.

When you move out of your skin, it feels good to come home, back within.

The road was arduous and LONG, but it sure feels good to be home, "Back Where I Belong."

"I" Loved you before you even knew what Love was.

"I" raised you above when you were at your lowest.

"I" breathed Life into your thought process to alleviate your stress.

"I" fight for you, "I" battle beside you and "I" give you the victory in the eye of the storm and amongst your most virulent enemies.

I will spend the rest of my Life trying to emulate the Love of GOD. And as each day brings me closer to my demise, may I one day realize, that although the possibility is indeed slim, I shall keep and die trying, "To Love Like HIM."

I have been writing my Blogs for over 3 years now. And in doing so, I write in complete honesty with respect to what I know, what I have learned and how I have grown in the process.

Depending on your perspective, growth may indeed be optional, but there are pitfalls to not selecting growth as a viable option in Life. I firmly believe that growth should be mandatory with the caveat that it is YOU that accepts that as an option, knowing the consequences if you do not as opposed to someone mandating growth for you.

My walk with GOD might be personal to me, but why not share in what was initially shared with me? So, I do.

GOD is good!
GOD is great!
And anything to the contrary is complete and utter gibberish!

When I give "my" testimony on how GOD has worked within "my" Life, it is "my" testimony to the goodness and greatness of the LORD.

Some people are afraid to publicly discuss GOD for fear of being challenged by someone that might be more familiar or knowledgeable with HIS Word. But, not me. I could feasibly read scripture, Pray for clarity and understanding of that scripture, recollect on how that scripture was played out in my Life and turn around and write a Blog surrounding "my" story and how GOD worked THROUGH me in order to get TO me. Personal, TO "me."

Why would anyone keep a story worth telling to themselves? So, I do not and I opt to share.

Now keep in mind that "that" scripture and how it is relevant in "my" Life does not dilute the importance of that scripture and it's relevance to "your" Life should we not have the same experience at the same time during our respective walks or vice versa. My walk is not identical to that of another, but according to GOD's plan for "me." We all arrive at our destinations at different intervals throughout our lives and our experiences, levels of commitment, endurance and overall Faith are all unique and for many reasons will indeed vary. But the Blessing shall continue.

Perhaps that is why we should refrain from leaning on our own understanding? I do my absolute BEST to remind myself of this whenever "my" thoughts start creeping into the equation.

"I" might not understand the path of "your" walk with GOD, but should I be mindful of that walk or harmonize the differences? Or should I sing and mind my own "Spiritual Business" so as to not impose what I "think" you or someone else's walk should be? Hence the very reason why I tell "Corey's" story relative to "Corey's" experience.

And in doing so, so many people have responded not only to "my" story, but to how GOD can, will and does work in their lives so that they too can realize that "everyone" does indeed have their own story. The Blessing shall continue.

Variations and interpretations are just that, variations and interpretations. There is no variation with respect to what GOD has done in "Corey's" Life. GOD did it and it is not something disputable with respect to what HE has brought me through. There are no interpretations to what GOD has done in "Corey's" Life. From a first person narrative, I capture and share in HIS Blessing because it is not just for me, although it was "my" experience. Sharing has one purpose and that is to share. There are no variations or interpretations to the word "sharing." HOW you "share" is a completely different thing. I choose to share through my Blogs. So, I do.

Now someone might not like HOW I construct and share in my story, but ALWAYS, to GOD Be the Glory! "If it does not apply, then let it fly," as my cousin would proclaim. "If it is not for me, then let it be," as I would say.

Fear of dialogue does not garner or further expand upon what you do or do not know. Every opportunity to add TO as opposed to subtract FROM puts a Smile upon my face, provides me food for thought and is engaging for all the right reasons, namely to talk, share in and hopefully walk away better than when you initially came into the conversation.

If providing or receiving additional clarity makes me a better communicator, then growth is not optional and I will be the first to extend myself at the opportunity for continued growth.

I Pray for continued growth, greater understanding and the Love of GOD for all that "know" and Love HIM, up to and including the one's that are just getting to "know" HIM, over to the one's that are not afraid to talk "about" HIM, with continued Prayers for the one's the know "nothing" about HIM.

GOD is good!
GOD is great!
And anything to the contrary is complete and utter gibberish!

"The Inspiration"

When weakness has you walking around in broad daylight with a flashlight looking for strength, unbeknownst to you, you are also looking for something and/or someone to grab a hold of for Love, comfort and support.

But at the time, there is seemingly nothing there...

When you finally wise up and grab a hold of GOD's hand, you miraculously find that strength that you were so desperately looking for.

And then...that something or someone finally shows up and they do not even begin to understand your newfound bravery, courage and strength. Ignorance and their quick attempt to "label" you causes them to misconstrue that "New Relationship" with the LORD as arrogance. In their feeble attempt to blindly judge a book by its cover, they fail to realize that "everything is not what it appears to be," as Mother would so frequently chime to me.

Do not allow someone or something from your past to dictate your present since they clearly have no respect for the future.

For once you have graduated from the pain, the time comes to celebrate the Glory and if they want to be a part of that, then make yourself available. Should they desire to remain "there" and "unchanged," then do not make yourself available. You cannot hold GOD's hand with your left and hold on to the painful past with your right. You will not be able to fully embrace HIM the moment that HE so requests that you fully embrace "HIM."

If they fail to understand, then encourage them to listen with their hearts and not just their ears so where you now are is clearly articulated in not just your words, but demonstrated in your actions.

For you cannot GROW if you are not willing to let "it" GO!

"Invisible Communication"

Remove all ambiguity and allow the promiscuity, of your WORDS (ONLY), to get around. People should not have to "figure out" what you mean or the intentions behind your unspoken words. Your unspoken words are like saying something to someone when they are not there. It goes unheard.

So, why do we get upset when people do not respond to what we never said, to THEM?

Why do you get upset when you did not get the response to the email that you wrote, but never clicked "send," TO?

Why are we mad that THEY did not accurately read our minds like we thought they should have?

Fundamentally speaking, we parents implore our children to "communicate" with us so that they can tell us "what hurts," "where it hurts," and how they got their "boo-boo's" to begin with.

But somewhere along the way, we lose our "directional sense of communication" and set ourselves so far back that our very own children become better communicators than we are. All the while we are trying to get THEM to talk to US, but it is US that forgot all about the fundamentals of communication. No wonder they look at us strange. Quiet as kept, most of the time it is US that are out of touch!

But how could we possibly ever really be IN touch if our communication is INVISIBLE?

How can you TOUCH what you cannot see?

How can you FEEL what is not there?

Unless of course we are talking about FAITH, "Invisible Communication" will always run the high risk of falling on deaf ears.

Speak so that THEY, can hear you.

Give THEM, something to feel.

Extend YOURSELF, so that they can TOUCH you.

Do not beat or dance around the bush. Use your words to go right through the bush and expose the "Invisible Communication" for what it truly is: NOTHING, IF YOUR WORDS ARE NEVER ABSORBED BY THEIR EARS.

WHAT hurts?
WHERE does it hurt?
HOW did you get your boo-boo?

Thank GOD for the effective communication of kids. No more "Invisible Communication" for me!

"The REASON Behind Your Motivation"

Motivation is one single thing that can lead you down a path to do right or to do wrong. That motivation is strictly contingent upon the REASON that shadows directly behind that motivation.

Motivation can be used for building or destroying.

Motivation can be used to Love or spew hate.

Motivation can be used for helping or hindering.

Motivation can be used to inspire or ridicule.

...Motivation can be used for countless things.

But just as important, if not more so, is the REASON behind your motivation.

What drives a person to build or destroy?

Why do some Love and others choose to hate?

What compels others to accept help, but hinder others from the same help that was first afforded to them?

And if someone so inspired YOU, then why would you turn around and ridicule another?

I am always intrigued by the REASON behind the motivation of people.

Perhaps if we take a "Closer" (http://allthebestallthetime.blogspot.com/2010/12/closer.html) look, we can begin to truly understand why we do what we do and make the determination to continue the positive things and permanently eliminate the negative REASONS that fuel our motivation to do the things that are not right.

Our "reasons" for who and what we are do not have the jurisdiction over the remainder of our lives to dictate the negative that was first "spewed" AT us, that was meant to "destroy" OUR Spirit causing us to "ridicule" OTHERS in order to satisfy what is lacking and lurking beneath our fleshly surface, preventing US from giving and receiving "Love" and "inspiring" others to do the same through the example in how we live our lives.

Good or bad, make sure that you understand "The REASON Behind Your Motivation" to do what you do. The jurisdictional boundaries can be readjusted, so long as you are "motivated" to do so, for all the "right" REASONS!

"Full Blast"

The first time that it happened, I did a presentation in Church the next morning.

The second time that it happened was after I participated in a presentation for Church that morning.

And at both times, the devil, in all of his infinite wisdom attempted to defeat me. But, how do you defeat victory I rhetorically inquired? How do you become victorious when you have already been defeated?

Since the first question is rhetorical, the answer to the second question is one syllable, three letters, one word, the ONLY Word.

Well, the enemy is not about to partake in the "Word," since he represents everything to the contrary of what the Truth and Love are all about. Good thing I figured him out ala GOD's TRUE infinite wisdom, knowledge and understanding.
I do not just "have" the victory, I "AM" the victory! My flesh may not be impenetrable, but when I put on the full armor of GOD, how could you possibly EVER convince me that I will not ever BE, victorious?!

That infinite wisdom is synonymous with what is done for GOD. They are the only things that will ever last, so I implore you to hold fast, study and post mortem the recent past, so that you can readily identify and recognize when you are being tasked, disguised as, but in reality an attack against, the Love for GOD that you have on "Full Blast."

"Closer"

Every step in the direction of Righteousness, yields at least a bunch of speed bumps and hurdles that are much ado about absolutely nothing.

Simply put in a colloquial sense, "don't waste my time with these meaningless distractions!"

As you get "Closer" TO the LORD in your walk WITH the LORD, you start to appreciate not only the Blessings that you have been in receipt of FROM the LORD, but you appreciate your time more than you have ever before. Borrowed time compels you to better manage your time, hence the need to rid those meaningless distractions powerless over your "Closer" jurisdiction where you and the LORD are getting better acquainted.

Let no ONE or no THING impose upon your growth, your walk, your talk, your well-being, your physical health, your Spiritual wealth, your vibrancy, your GOD given agenda that may or may not include that ONE or that one THING.

If you are not doing anything, then there is nothing to distract you from.

The more that they attempt to DISTRACT, the easier to discern if you should even INTERACT...

It feels good to be back!
